Clap Your Hands Say Yeah- Some Loud Thunder

So, I took the offer from Insound.com, to pre-order Clap Your Hands' new CD that is due out on January 30th, and be able to download the whole CD after purchase. So I bought the CD, using the last of my debit card that was actually possible, and awaited patiently for the e-mail to a) confirm that my order has transacted, and b) I will now be able to download the CD. The confirmation e-mail came in no time, making me sit on the edge of my seat (who cliche is that) to wait for the other e-mail. For two minutes, two very, very long minutes I refreshed the inbox of my inbox at least 100 times, with no luck on my side. Okay, the watch pot never boils. So, I got up, read the new Rolling Stone (great contrast of color on the cover, I may add), read the shitty review of everything (Rolling Stone has gone to shit. Rolling Stone has always been shit). I walked to the computer, and once again, no new e-mail. I refreshed, and I had one unopened e-mail. It was from Insound, stating that it will take some time for the link to download some time, because they did not expect so many pre-orders. This really chapped my ass. It was like having blue balls, like when you know you can go for an hour with your girlfriend, and after her first orgasm, she is too tired to go on. I needed that link, I would wait, and refresh, for as long as I needed. One hour later, and my finger cramped, I finally got the e-mail with the link to download. Thankfully everything was successful with this portion. I turned off everything that might distract me from the first listen, my cell phone, television, all web pages, everything.

I pressed play for the first track Some Loud Thunder and was amazed by how quickly the song began, reminding me right at the moment of Talking Heads. Dave Friedmann really added a new touch to this song, bringing a distorted Alec, and a thicker sound to the band overall. It was a new sound for the band, and might be unappreciated by many. The CD, as a whole, is made to grow on the listener, so do not be discouraged after your first listen to the whole CD. But, to my dismay, Some Loud Thunder compares nothing to the first Clap Your  Hands CD, where every song fit into the CD, here it feels like each song has not reached its own apex, which makes the first listen to Some Loud Thunder leaving the listener with a craving for more. The stand out tracks for me are Satan Said Dance, Mama, Won't You Keep Those Castles In The Air & Burning, Yankee Go Home, and Some Loud Thunder.

I am bias as hell, and when it comes to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, it will be tough to be this CD.

Overall Rating- 4.5/5

What About You, MY Friends

My life is packed with arduous tasks that lead me to absolutely nowhere that I would like to be. I walk the city streets, going to stores/shops that I feel would like to have my assistance. I walk in, hear the fake ding of a new soul to walk through the door, walk up to the individual I believe is the one in charge (the one usually doing nothing, or pretending to look a lot cooler then they really should) and I ask if they are accepting jobs/services that will pay. They respond, like it's the first time they've ever heard this statement, eyebrows propped, jaw dropped, fumbeling with papers, only to end up walking out the door with a no, sorry. I'm trying to save money for a new computer, something with the software that will get me to where I see myself being...with money, with a car, not living in a hole in the wall...literally.

I am interested in you, reader. Please, comment me, tell me what you like in music, cinema, art, fashion, literature, poetry. Who/what are your favorites?

My favorites (as of now...guaranteed will be different in fifteen minutes)-

  • Musician/Band - Bob Dylan
  • Album - The Clash's London Calling
  • Movie - Bottle Rocket
  • Artist - Ralph Steadman
  • Author - Jonathan Safran Foer
  • Playwright - Arthur Miller
  • Poet - Dylan Thomas

I'll Tell Some Truth Now

I am a mystery to most of you who view this page, and now I will tell some facts.

  • My name is Micaelis Answorth, and I am 18 years of age.
  • I lived in New Mexico for most of my life, now I reside in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
  • Music has wasted my life away, and the only thing that keeps me alive is new music, and rare vinyl.

I really have no idea what else to say. If anyone has any questions/comments/concerns then please do tell. Also, if you do not care about me, but only my musical taste, then please do tell me also.
